Our Beginning
Our Beginning & Establishment
Sahyadri Co-operative Society Limited was established on 20 November 2024 at Thokkottu through the co-operation of 12 close friends. Born with the aim of community-oriented service, financial self-reliance and the all-round development of its members, the society achieved a remarkable milestone by enrolling 1,100 members in its very first phase.
The society's inauguration was held with grandeur at Shakti Complex, Bhatnagar, Thokkottu. Sahakara Ratna Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar, President of the Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation, President of the Dakshina Kannada District Central Co-operative Bank and Director of the Apex Bank, inaugurated the society and offered his blessings.

An Institution Grown on Vision
Behind the founding of Sahyadri Co-operative Society Limited lie vision, dedication, leadership and a spirit of social service. Under the guidance of Founder President K.T. Suvarna, and through the united efforts of Vice President A.J. Shekar and the Board of Directors, the society earned public recognition within a short span.
Raising ₹70.45 lakh in share capital and enrolling 1,100 members in its early phase reflects the public's trust in the society and the hard work of its board. Begun with the aim of giving a new dimension to the district's co-operative sector, the society is resolved to grow into a model state-level co-operative institution.

The working style of the Dakshina Kannada District Central Co-operative Bank and its President, Sahakara Ratna Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar, is a key inspiration for the growth of Sahyadri Co-operative Society. His achievement in developing the district's co-operative sector to earn recognition at the state and national level sets an example for the society's directors.
The guidance of Leelaram, retired DGM of SCDCC Bank, and Satish Poojary, CEO of the D.K. Co-operative Societies' Employees' Association, has also played a significant role in the society's establishment and growth.
